Quirky Worky - our brand new exhibition is now open!
Featuring 20 fantastic artists whose work has a distinctive adge, our middle floor is fillied with delightful work in ceramics, textiles and print. As we are in the grips of a Jubilee weekend and marching forward to the Olympics this year is definitely a year to celebrate all things 'Made in Great Britain'. The Ferrers Gallery only stocks work by British artists and 13 of the artists in Quirky Worky hail from the Midlands so it is a must see to discover the creative talent that is on our doorstep. Quirky Worky runs until 12th August so there is plenty of time and plenty to see, a taster below of the treats on show. ![]() Gavin Darby has created a rocking chair, table and candle holders from his daughters worn out Micra, if only I had known Gavin when my Cinquecento died on me I could have had a dining suite or something equally quirky - good ol' student cars! Acclaimed artist Jennifer Collier works with old dress patterns, maps and vintage papers and books to create a multitude of work from mixed media pictures to brooches and cards. Stafforshire milk lady Lucy Anne Harding creates textiles inspired from people she meets on her milk round and her local route plus up-cycles decadent tea cups with illustrations of her own. ![]() Also on show are some very unusual and innovavtive styles of work all of which we hope you enjoy, inspired by entomology, architecture, corroding buildings and fantasy worlds. As always at Ferrers Gallery there is lots to take in and we hope you plan a visit to see us soon. Don't forget that we are open all of the Bank Holidays from 11am to 5pm so bring the family and have a browse. New work now in amongst our ground floor displays: ![]() ![]() |
